Hartsville City Council recognizes citizens’ successes, hears road damage complaints
When the Hartsville City Council met on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, several items were discussed, including road damage and debris on properties near Fletcher Street, as well as development projects in the Oakdale neighborhood.
Hartsville proposes redistricting plan
In an effort to remain in accordance with state and federal law after changes in population, the City of Hartsville is legally required to redraw the boundaries of their voting districts and has put forth a proposal to do so.
Murder, dognapping suspects apprehended
Law enforcement officials have arrested two men who they believe were connected to the murder of 76-year-old Darlingtonian Lonnie Ray and the theft of a French Bulldog at the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Bishopville on February 6th of this year.
Fuel theft suspect sought
Kirven Construction, located at 1630 Mineral Springs Rd, in Darlington, was the scene of fuel thefts during the week of March 13 and, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying a suspect caught on surveillance camera videos.
Man arrested on weapons charge
The son of Darlington County Sheriff James Hudson Jr. was arrested on Thursday, March 23, 2023, on a weapons charge.
