Man reports he was assaulted on Cashua Ferry Road
A man told Darlington police that he was assaulted on Cashua Ferry Road last week. The victim told police that three men attacked him. Local news media reported that the victim walked to a store and collapsed on the floor. WPDE-TV reported that the victim said he was “meeting someone” at an apartment complex about a stolen car that apparently had been taken in Florence.
Sheriff’s Office seizes guns, drugs in Oates
A Hartsville man and a Lamar woman were arrested last week after the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office found drugs and guns in the man’s home in the Oates community, Sheriff Tony Chavis said. Timmonsville Highway crash kills 1
A driver was killed last week in a two-vehicle crash on the Timmonsville Highway in Darlington County, officials said. The victim, whose name was not yet released, was driving a 1999 Mercury that crossed the centerline and hit a truck on July 31, the Highway Patrol told local news media. The incident took place about 5:30 p.m. near Misty Lane. The victim was taken to McLeod Regional Medical Center.
