Suspect in Pine Ridge slaying surrenders

A Hartsville woman who was being sought in connection with a slaying in Pine Ridge May 26 has surrendered to authorities. Crash victims identified

The victims of a single-car crash June 2 on Hoffmeyer Road in Darlington County have been identified as a woman from Lamar and a woman from Hartsville. Officials said Nicole Blackmon from Lamar and Tabitha Griggs from Hartsville died in the crash. Both were reported to be in their 20s, but Griggs’ obituary says she was 35. Amanda Hoffman, a housing manager at the Housing Authority of Darlington, is to be married to Patric Colbert, a vehicle mechanic at Haile Gold Mine. Ms. Hoffman is the daughter of the late Joshua Richard Hoffman and Wanda Hoffman Smith of Hartsville. Mr. Colbert is the son of the late Greg Schnitzler of Florence and Annette and George Stephenson of Conway. A wedding is planned for December in Hartsville.

Shots fired at deputies
