Just one challenger for DSCD school board election
The filing period to run for Darlington County Board of Education closed August 15. The terms for seats 1, 3, 5, and 7 were up for election. Currently, those seats are held by Billy Baldwin, Dr. Thelma Dawson, Maureen Thomas and Wanda Hassler, respectively. Leigh Anne Kelley has filed for seat 1; Baldwin did not file for re-election. Dawson and Hassler will see no challenger while Thomas will face Richard Brewer for District 5.
