Mack Windham

McIver Williamson “Mack” Windham, age 86, died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, at Belk Funeral Home, Lamar Chapel. Burial will follow in Elim United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Lamar.

Mack was born in Darlington County on July 1, 1930, son of the late Willard and Eula Lee Tolson Windham. Mr. Windham served in the National Guard Reserves, retired from NYTRONICS and was the owner and operator of Classic Antiques. He also had a passion for cars, and after his retirement, worked for Manheim Auction in Darlington. He was a member of Christian Pathway Church.
He is survived by his children, Debbie (Mike) Pearson of Lamar, Karen (Paul) Heger of Florence, Wendy (Ronny) Stephens of Lamar, and Mark (Renee) Windham of Pawleys Island; grandchildren: Eric (Amy) Windham, Tony (Heather) Heger, Lindsey (Stan) Overby, Taylor (Will) Burr, Reid Stephens, and Sydney Windham; great-grandchildren: McKinley Windham, Dylan Heger, Cameron Overby, Peyton Heger and Levi Windham; a brother, Punk (Pat) Windham; and a sister, Jennie Kempson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Windham.

Rhonda Boykin

Rhonda Boykin, 57, of Darlington died on Thursday, October 27, 2016.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. The family received friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home.

Rhonda was born in Darlington, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Richard Williams and Virginia Isgett. Rhonda loved watching TV, shopping at Sam’s, and cooking for her family.

Surviving are her husband, Milton D. Walters, Jr. of Darlington; her children, Milton D. Walters, III and wife, Stacy, of Darlington, and Bridget Bazen and husband, Charlie Bazen, Jr. of Darlington; her grandchildren, Dixie Walters, Milton D. Walters, IV, Samuel Bazen, and Shonda Bazen all of Darlington; her brother, Ricky Williams and wife, Susan of Darlington; her sisters, Ramona Stevens of Darlington, and Robin Worrell and husband, Mitchell of Coward; and her step father, Bertis Isgett of Pamplico.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents listed above, and by a grandson, David Angel Walters.

Tammy Moody

Tammy Moody, 54, of Darlington went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2016, surrounded by loving family.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in Flat Creek Pentecostal Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery, directed by Kistler Hardee Funeral Home. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Tammy was born in Darlington, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Joyce Vincent Lloyd of Darlington and the late JC Vincent. Tammy loved shopping, working in the yard, fishing, and hunting. She was a member of Flat Creek Pentecostal Church in Darlington. Tammy also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Randal Moody of Darlington; her daughters, Brook Moody Gandy and husband Lex, of Darlington, and Kathryn Moody Tarlton and husband Tab, Jr. of Darlington; her brothers, Steven Vincent and wife, Sherrill of Darlington, Wayne Vincent of Darlington, and Tommy Vincent of Darlington; her sister, Rose Colvin of Darlington; her grandchildren, Jordan Gandy, Jamison Gandy, Hannah Tarlton and Kylee Tarlton; her mother-in-law, Geraldine Moody of Darlington; her sister-in-law, Sandra Moody of Darlington; and special neighbor and friend, Charles “Mad Dog” Timmons of Darlington.

Robert J. “Bob” Stevens

Robert J. “Bob” Stevens, Sr. 81, of Darlington died on Thursday, October 13, 2016.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the home.

Robert was born in Pinopolis, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Goodlow and Margaret Edwards Stevens. Robert enjoyed genealogy and was an exceptional writer to include “The Legacy of Father James H. Saye a Presbyterian Divine,” “Captain Bill Books 1, 2 & 3,” “Lt. Col. Benjamin Herndon” and “Betsy (Jeter) Brown.” He also was one of the supervisors for the Dixie Cup Plant during construction.

Surviving are his wife, Betts Stevens; his children, Robert J. Stevens, Jr. (Susan), Martha Stevens Marinelli (Joe), Chrissy Stevens Jackson (Don), and Patricia Stevens Tobias (Eddie); his grandsons, SSG Brad Pearson (Jessica), and Rilee Jackson; and great grandson, Maverick Pearson.

Ted Taylor

Ted Taylor, 88, of Mankato, Minnesota passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016. Ted was born in Darlington, South Carolina on May 14, 1928, son of William Wesley Taylor and Bessie Wrye Taylor.

He was the beloved husband of Jean Oates Taylor.

From shoeshine boy to barber, Ted followed in his father’s footsteps owning Taylor’s Barber Shop in Darlington, South Carolina. He was also the youngest licensed master barber in South Carolina. In 1972, he changed careers and went into hotel/motel management. He and his wife, Jean, and two sons Wesley and Ted, moved out west, residing in Kingman, Arizona, Battle Mountain, Nevada, Blythe, California and St George, Utah. St George became their second home for many years. In 1985, they returned to Florence, South Carolina. In 2002, they moved to Mankato, Minnesota. Ted was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many church callings that included branch president, bishopric counselor, stake building supervisor and stake genealogy coordinator. His greatest calling was that of husband, father and patriarch of his beloved family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean Oates Taylor; daughter, Lorraine (Michael) Edwards of Blue Mountain, Mississippi; sons, Wesley (Lisa) Taylor of Mankato, Minnesota, and Ted Wrye (Lori) Taylor of St George, Utah; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces, Georgette (William) Davis of Georgetown, South Carolina and Geraldine Williamson of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Wesley (Bubba); four sisters, Barbara Taylor, Margaret Williamson, Bernice Taylor, and Vivian Lambert; brother-in- law, James Lambert; and a grandson, Kristian Edwards.
A memorial service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mankato Ward, Mankato, Minnesota on Saturday, October 29th at 11:00 a.m. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the church one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund by going to lds.org.
