Funeral services for Mrs. Creola Davis Green of Darlington were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Darlington.

Interment followed in Faith Memorial Gardens directed by Jordan Funeral Home, Inc. of Darlington.
Mrs. Green was born in Darlington, S.C., a daughter of the late Willie S. and Lillian Johnson Davis, Sr. She attended the public schools in Darlington, graduating from Mayo High School in 1945.
She was baptized at an early age in Macedonia Baptist Church, and participated in many capacities into retirement.
She earned her B.S. degree, and later her Master’s degree at North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. before returning to Darlington County to teach. She was married to Calvin L. Green, Sr. in 1950.
Mrs. Green spent most of her 30 years in public education at Mayo High School teaching business and commerce. She spent many more hours serving her neighbors and community.
Survivors include: her son, Dr. Calvin L. (Gwendolyn) Green, Jr., and her daughter, Anita L. Green; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Herlina D. Morris; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 106 H Avenue, Darlington.
James McAllister, 78, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Mr. McAllister was born August 5, 1938 in Darlington, S.C. to the late Rev. Joseph and Gladys Marks McAllister, Sr.



Mr. McAllister, a 1956 graduate of Mayo High School, earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Florence-Darlington Technical College. He proudly served and retired from the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a devoted member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church serving in various leadership positions. He served as Post Commander, Chaplain and Adjutant with the American Legion Post #210.
Mr. McAllister was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary L. Dowling McAllister. Survivors include his children: Colonel (Ret.) Everett B. (Wanda) of Lorton, VA, Joseph M. (Camela) of Charlotte, N.C., Saundra Y. (Dr Robert) Sumter of Alpharetta, GA, Regina E. (Dwayne) Winston of Graham, N.C., Timothy A. (Dr. Tabatha) of Columbia, S.C. and Tonya E. (Marcus, Atty.) Woodson of Florence, S.C; siblings: Rev Ruth Sellers (Bishop Thomas) Ward, Mildred (Rev. Frank) Cook; Atty Peggy McAllister; Barbara (Frank) Thomas; Rev. Dr. Angela (Rev. Dr. James) Wilson; Karen (Andre’) Mickens; Bishop Julius (Joan); Kenneth (Regina); Rev. D. Melvin (Andrea); Rev. Donald (Rosa); fourteen grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and very dear friends.
James was preceded in death by Rev. Joseph, Jr., John, Charles, and Howard, and two infant brothers, Francis and Franklin.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Jordan Funeral Home.
