Clipper Gandy

DARLINGTON — Charles Clipper Gandy, 53, died March 3, 2020, at his residence.
A funeral was held Friday, March 6, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with a burial following in Piney Plains Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service.
Born June 18, 1966, in Darlington County, he was the son of the late Benard C. and Shirley Griggs Gandy. Clipper previously worked for Land Air as a dispatcher and he enjoyed watching TV, especially wrestling, and fishing. He was raised in Piney Plains Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Gandy, aunts: Yvonne Munn from Palatka, Fla., Marie Shaw and Sara Roscoe from Cheraw; uncles, Rev. Lemuel Griggs of Summerville, James M. Griggs of Cheraw, Tommy Griggs of Texas and William J. Griggs of Olanta; many cousins, including his special cousins Jean Maroney and Denise Gaddy and friends, Louise Ervin (Betty) Horne.
The family asks that memorials be made to Belk Funeral Home, to help with funeral expenses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Taft and Pearl Gandy of Hartsville and maternal grandparents Rev. Wallace and Pauline Griggs of Cheraw and an aunt, Frances Loflin of Cheraw.
