Raceway hosts Annual Terrence Carraway 5K Memorial Run
On Sept. 2, dozens of runners turned out at the Darlington Raceway to take part in the annual Terrence Carraway 5K memorial run. The event salutes Carraway, a Darlington resident and City of Florence police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 2018, and benefits the Terrence Carraway Foundation, a nonprofit led by his widow, Allison. All runners and walkers began at the same time last Thursday evening and ran different courses based on the length of their chosen event. Guest speakers were Raceway President Kerry Tharp, Judge Dan E. Lockemy, Ray Barber, president of Browns RV Superstore and Allison Carraway. Law-enforcement officers from Darlington, Florence and surrounding areas attended the event.
