Bessie Sanders

Bessie Sanders, 70, of Darlington died on Sunday, June 4, 2017.

A celebration of her life was held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Kistler Hardee Funeral Home. The family received friends from 2 until 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Kistler Hardee Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sanders was born in Darlington County. She was the daughter of the late Otis and Iva Mae Johnson. Mrs. Sanders was a member of the Darlington Church of God in Darlington and loved to visit friends at the Crossroads. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis and country music.

Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly Morse (William Calcutt) of Darlington; her step daughters, Donna Mitcheltree and Renee Kramer; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Polston of Darlington; her great grandson, Jordan Hall of Darlington; her niece, Beverly McIntyre of Hartsville; her great niece, Barbie Hatchell of Hartsville; her great great niece and nephew, Jack and Aaliyah Hatchell of Hartsville; and several cousins and friends.

Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sanders; her niece, Angelina McIntyre; her great nephew, Josey Lee McIntyre; her son, Philip Morse; her brothers, Warren and Lucas Johnson; and her sister, Bevin McIntyre Johnson.

Deborah Weatherford Humphries

Deborah “Debbie” Weatherford Humphries, age 52, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017. A memorial service was held 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 6th in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home.

Born March 18, 1965 in Pickens, SC, Debbie is the daughter of the late Charles E. Weatherford and Betty Edwards Weatherford. She worked as a clerk for the Darlington County Auditor’s office. She loved life, and enjoyed being around people and enjoyed music.

Surviving are her husband, Charles Humphries; her daughters, Brandi (Ben) Ciccone of Florence, and Heather Humphries of Colorado Springs, CO; her granddaughter, Emily Ciccone; two sisters, Linda Weatherford (David Miller) of Darlington, and Eva Asaro. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Weatherford, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the home of Linda Weatherford, 404 Kingfisher Dr. Darlington, SC 29532.

Jon Michael Lyons

Jon Michael “Mike” Lyons, age 45, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017. A visitation was held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 8th at Belk Funeral Home, Darlington.

Born August 25, 1971, Mike is the son of Donald L. Lyons and Jean Loflin Lee. Mike worked in construction for 20 years, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Donald L. (Cheryl) Lyons of Goose Creek and Jean Loflin Lee of Timmonsville, he is survived by his sister, Magan “Betsy” (David) Thomas of Goose Creek; his niece, Everly Rose Thomas of Goose Creek; and his grandmother, Betty H. Loflin of Timmonsville.

Tommy Christopher Perkins

Tommy Christopher Perkins, 51, of Darlington died on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 until 3 p.m. on Friday, Jun 9, 2017 at Kistler Hardee Funeral Home.

Tommy was born in Darlington County. He loved spending time with his family and working. Tommy also enjoyed working on his truck, fishing and riding dirt bikes.

Surviving are his mother, Victoria Cowick Perkins of Florence; his fiancé, Nancy Nobles; his children, Ashley Perkins, Sabrina Perkins, Ryan Perkins, Brittany Hopkins and husband, Dustin, Robert Windham, Adam Smith, and Jason Smith; his brother, Terry Perkins; his sister, Dorothy Oliphant and husband, Lacy; and his grandchildren, Kylie Windham and Addison Hopkins; and his nieces and nephews, Terry Perkins, Jr., Kenneth Gainey, Austin Kennedy, Blaze Avant, Shawn Perkins, Winter Blackmon, Sumter Blackmon, Autumn Blackmon.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Perkins; his sister, Vicki Perkins and by his brother, Bump Perkins.

Yvonne Watford

Yvonne Reynolds Watford, age 59, died Wednesday, June 7th at her residence after a lengthy illness. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10th in Elim United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday evening at Belk Funeral Home, Lamar Chapel.

Born in Sumter on November 19, 1957, she is the daughter of the late Frank Viven Reynolds and Julia Andrews Reynolds. Before her sickness, Yvonne worked at IGA in Darlington and at CHAMPUS. She enjoyed having family around and was raised in the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her mother of Lamar, she is survived by her husband, Hoss Watford of the home, her daughter, Kyleen (Hampton) Logan, a grandson, James Logan; her sister, Lynette (Bobby) Hudson, her brothers, Gene (Deborah) Reynolds, Randy (Wanda) Reynolds, all of Lamar, many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. Also surviving are her two four-legged friends, Scooter and Skylar.

Horace “Blue” W. Boseman

Horace “Blue” W. Boseman, age 77, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017. Funeral services were held 4 p.m. Monday in the chapel at Belk Funeral Home, with burial following at Grove Hill Cemetery. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born February 29, 1940, Horace is the son of the late Willie T. Boseman and Lenara Arie O’Neal Boseman. He worked at Perfection American, and for the S.C. Department of Highway and Transportation until his retirement. He loved dancing, enjoyed meeting people, and doing yard work. He loved his family, his grandchildren, and his canine friend “Poo Poo”. He attended Dovesville Church of God.

Surviving are his daughters, Lorna Boseman, Pam (Bobby) Edwards, both of Darlington, Darlene Boseman, Lisa (Todd) Kelley, both of Hartsville, Tonya Blackburn of Darlington; his sons, Horace “Billy” Boseman, Jr, and Jonathan (Anita) Boseman, both of Georgia. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jessica, Hannah, and Haley Edwards, Ashley and Brandon Cole, Shane Atkinson, Skyler Kelley, Ashley Boseman, Kimberliah Brinkley; one great-grandson, Jax Edwards; and his sisters, Lenara (Charlie) Wallace and Bonnie Turbeville, both of Darlington.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eunice B. Beasley and Dot Odom.
