Trinity-Byrnes Book Club makes donation to Help4Kids

The Trinity-Byrnes Book Club, a student led organization, held their annual book drive to collect books for children who may not otherwise have access to them. Sophomores Sullivan Smith (President) and Eliza Gregg Saleeby (Vice President, Book Drive Chair) headed the effort. Thanks to the generous support of the TBCS faculty, students, and the larger TBCS community, the TBCS book club collected over 1,800 children’s books.

Help 4 Kids, an all-volunteer organization led by Diane Welsh, has a mission to fill the weekend hunger gap for the children of Florence County. Since these students are identified as “food insecure,” the club realized the need for providing books for these families that may not have the means of focusing on extras like books outside of school. By sending books home along with their food for the weekend, each student not only has the nutrition they need, but also something of their own that is both entertaining and educational.
