TBCS celebrates Black History Month

On Feb. 28, Trinity-Byrnes students celebrated Black History Month with a program, including a message, tribute and celebration.

Tenth grader Tracy Jackson was the Master of Ceremony and 11th grader Jordan Jones opened the ceremony in prayer. Kevis Williams (10th), Nicholas Ford (11th), and Chase Hayes (10th) read inspirational readings and shared the theme of 2019 Black History Month “Black Migrations.” Jailen Jones sang an excerpt of “Take Me To The King” and Pastor Lacie Jones delivered a message on the importance of remembering the struggle and resiliency of African Americans.

Coach Larry Cullinane offered a tribute to a member of the TBCS family, Carlos Washington.

The service was dedicated to Washington and TBCS awarded him a plaque in honor of his contributions to youth and dedication to community service.
