S.C. American Legion Baseball championship tournament to be held in Columbia
This year’s South Carolina American Legion Baseball championship tournament will be held in Columbia.
The 2018 tournament is set for July 25-27 at Spirit Communications Park in Columbia’s Bull Street district.
This year’s tournament will also be condensed to a four-team format, with the top two Upper State teams and the top two Lower State teams advancing to the finals.
Billy Oswald, American Legion League 8 Committeeman who is helping organize the tournament, hopes the changes will help bring awareness to the program.
“We hope the new venue raises the profile of American Legion youth baseball and all it has to offer young people,” Oswald said.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
