One arrested in fatal shooting
Darlington County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Saturday night.
About 11:20 p.m., officials said, one person was struck and was driven from the scene to a convenience store parking lot at Timmonsville Highway and Hoffmeyer Road.
That person died from his wounds, officials said.
Darlington County Sheriff Tony Chavis said in a statement: “We, along with the U.S. Marshals task force, have arrested a subject in relation to (the) fatal shooting and we will release more information later.”
The victim in the case was identified by the Darlington County coroner’s office as Jerome Robinson, 18, of Florence.
Dre Glorvun Nazier Hampton, 19, of Florence has been charged with murder in the slaying, officials said Monday afternoon.
