Mary Glenn Everett Mozingo

Mary Glenn Everett Mozingo, 78, formerly of Darlington and currently of Chapin, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019.

Born in Laurinburg, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Calvin Everett Jr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Stackhouse Everett.

She was predeceased by a son, James Pierce Mozingo V. She is survived by a son, Mark Everett Mozingo (Padgett) of Chapin; two grandchildren, Sidney Carlisle Mozingo and Christopher Garrett Lewis; and a brother, Thomas Calvin Everett III of Florence.

A 1959 graduate of St. John’s High School in Darlington, she also attended Coker College. She enjoyed a 43-year career in real estate in the Darlington and Florence areas and, upon her retirement, was believed to have held her broker’s license longer than any other agent in South Carolina.

She began her career with Burt Jordan Realtors, and then spent the majority of it with RE/MAX Professionals.

Upon her retirement, Mary moved to Chapin to be closer to her only remaining son and grandchildren.

Mary was known for her fun-loving and friendly personality. She was a force of nature who lived life by her own set of rules and was fiercely protective of her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held May 15 at 1 p.m. at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Darlington, followed by a reception at Wildes-Edwards House, 120 Edwards Ave., hosted by Bessie Hannahan.

Grady Franklin Tadlock

Grady Franklin Tadlock, 75, of Bennettsville died Sunday, April 28, 2019, at McLeod Hospice House of Florence.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 30, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville. Funeral services were Wednesday, May 1, in the Chapel of Kistler Hardee Funeral Home in Darlington, with visitation May 1 at Kistler Hardee Funeral Home in Darlington.

Grady was the son of the late Carl Edgar Tadlock and Ethel Mae Wallace Tadlock.

Surviving are his children, Brooks Tadlock, Frank Tadlock, Jeff (Sherry) Tadlock, and Debbie Tadlock (Cotton) Dixon; his stepchildren, Patricia Smith, Gerald Brute (Kim Covington), Sherry Michelle (Shonley) Wallace, Karen Borders, Barbara (Terry) Mullinex, Ricky (Shonda) Smith and Kevin Sessoms; several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Dewey (Candy) Tadlock; his sister, Betty (Andy) Anderson; and special nephew, Dewey Brian Tadlock.

Grady was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Tadlock Jr.; Buddy Tadlock; Charlie “Bayby” Tadlock; and Marshall Hubert Tadlock; and his sisters, Dore Lee Cooper and Sara Hendrix.

Frances Johnson Davis

DARLINGTON – Frances Johnson Davis, 73, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019. The family received friends May 7 at Belk Funeral Home.

Born Oct. 15, 1945, Frances was the daughter of the late Johnny Johnson and Hazel Lee Chapman Johnson.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and was known for her fried chicken.

Surviving are her children, Donnie Ray Davis Jr., Brad (Kim) Davis, John “Ficey” (Margie) Davis; grandchildren, Taylor, Garrett, Keagan, Riley, Courtney, C.J., and Tony; sisters, Virginia Gainey, Clarice Johnson and Margaret Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Davis, grandson, Zachary Davis, and brother, Rufford Johnson.
