New oncologist joins McLeod Cancer team

FLORENCE–The McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research is pleased to announce the addition of Medical Oncologist Dr. Ravneet Bajwa to the cancer team.

Dr. Bajwa joins Dr. Rajesh Bajaj, Dr. Michael Pavy, Dr. Sreenivas Rao, Dr. Jamie Smith, and Dr. Karim Tazi in serving patients at McLeod Oncology and Hematology Associates, a department of McLeod Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Bajwa comes to McLeod following the completion of her Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Florida Department of Medicine. She received her medical degree in 2010 from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore of Manipal University in India, and completed her Internal Medicine Residency in 2014 at the University of Florida Department of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida.

As a medical oncologist and hematologist, Dr. Bajwa provides care for the full spectrum of cancer diagnoses using chemotherapy, targeted and biological therapy. Areas of special interest include breast cancer, lymphoma, gastrointestinal cancer and benign hematology.

“I enjoy the special connection I get to make with my patients and their families as an oncologist,” said Dr. Bajwa. “Our patients inspire us to do our best for them, and I cherish the privilege of making an impact in their lives.”

A native of India, Dr. Bajwa and her husband, McLeod Gastroenterologist Dr. Davinderbir Pannu, are parents of a three-year-old daughter, Seher.
