Miss Darlington and Miss Darlington Teen Scholarship Pageants return to Darlington

May 21st will be a very exciting day for the city of Darlington as the Miss Darlington and Miss Darlington Teen Scholarship Pageants will return after a five-year hiatus. This year’s pageant is being presented by the city of Darlington and will be held at St. John’s Elementary School, located at 140 Park St. beginning at 5 p.m. Emcee for the event is WBTW News 13’s Nicole Boone. Miss Darlington 2012 Clarka Wickliffe, Miss Darlington Teen 2010 Caroline Byrd, Miss Pee Dee Teen 2017 Kinsley Odom, Magician Kim Cranford and the Brenda Cranford School of Dance will provide entertainment. The theme of the pageant is “It’s Magic” and the event will be ushered back into the city with a special magic show that will begin at 4:40 p.m. Everyone is asked to be in their seats by 4:50 p.m. due to a very special opening number. Tickets to the pageants will be sold at the door and are $15 for adults, children 10 and under are $10 and 5 and under will be admitted for free. All Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina local titleholders, Local Executive Directors, SC Prince and Princesses and state staff will be admitted for free. Miss Darlington and Miss Darlington Teen will compete for the titles of Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen 2018 next June in Columbia.

Competing for Miss Darlington 2018 are:

• Danielle Cottingham, Hartsville S.C., she will perform a classical vocal piece for her talent.

• Joy Dewitt, Columbia S.C., will perform a pointe variation for her talent.

• Britney Ernest, Columbia S.C., will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Brittney Evans, Greenwood S.C., will perform a tap dance for her talent.

• Sarah Floyd, Hartsville S.C., will perform a classical vocal piece for her talent.

• Grayson Jackson, Cheraw S.C., will perform a lyrical dance for her talent.

• Laine Lippo, Darlington S.C., will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Hailey Pimental, Myrtle Beach S.C., will perform a hula dance for her talent.

• Ariana Ruiz, Manning S.C., will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Madison-Drew Barrett, Greenville S.C., will perform a flute solo for her talent.

• Addison Singletary, Turbeville S.C. will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Grace Smith, Camden S.C., will perform a jazz dance for her talent.

• Brooke Vu, Myrtle Beach, will perform a Tahitian dance for her talent.

Competing for Miss Darlington Teen 2018 are:

• Sarah Carroll, Aynor S.C., will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Kailey Davis, Sumter S.C., will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Aubrey Goodwin, Darlington S.C., will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Payton Holmes, Conway S.C., will perform a tap dance routine for her talent.

• Ella Miller, Florence S.C., will perform a pointe dance for her talent.

• Saviah Miller, Florence S.C., will perform a vocal selection for her talent.

• Anderson Moore, Clover S.C. will perform a vocal selection and play the ukulele for her talent.
