McLeod Health Announces New Regional Administrator

McLeod Health announces the promotion of Deborah D. Locklair to Senior Vice President of McLeod Health and Regional Administrator for McLeod Health Dillon and McLeod Health Cheraw. Locklair most recently served as the Interim Administrator of McLeod Health Cheraw.

Locklair has served as Administrator for McLeod Health Dillon and a Vice President of McLeod Health since 2005. She began her career at McLeod in 1989 as a Social Worker and Discharge Planner for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In 1992, Locklair was named Director of Discharge Planning, a position she held until 1994 when she assumed leadership as the Administrator of McLeod Health Darlington and Vice President of McLeod Health. In 2003, she became Administrative Chief of Staff for McLeod President and Chief Executive Officer Rob Colones. In this position, she represented the office of the President of McLeod Health to both internal and external publics, as well as assisted in the review of correspondences, documents and contracts with outside organizations. Locklair received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She also completed her Master of Education degree specializing in Counseling from Francis Marion University. On a state level, Locklair was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the South Carolina Hospital Association and the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Office of Rural Health Board. She also serves on a variety of health care leadership boards including the South Carolina Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Vision Council for SC DHHA Healthy Outcomes Program. Locklair is a Graduate of Leadership South Carolina (LSC) and served on the Board of Trustees for LSC for four years.

In the Dillon community, she served on the steering committees to establish the Dillon County Free Medical Clinic and Leadership Dillon County. She was also a member of the Dillon Country American Red Cross Board, the Healthy Learners Advisory Board, the Dillon Rotary Club and previously served as Chair of the Dillon County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Locklair was named by Governor Nikki Haley as Dillon County’s 2010 Ambassador for Economic Development for exceptional contributions made to the Dillon Community and South Carolina’s economic development.

A native of Olanta, South Carolina, Locklair lives in Florence with her husband, Dale. They have three children and five grandchildren. Locklair enjoys international travel and being outdoors as well as spending time with her family.
