Mayo recognizes classroom performance

Mayo High School for Math, Science & Technology students were recognized for outstanding classroom performance at the school’s annual Academic Banquet held May 2 at the Darlington Country Club. Mayo’s 2017 Teacher of the Year Christopher Pietrzak gave a brief keynote speech, encouraging students to keep striving for excellence and reminding them of the unofficial Mayo motto: “Hard work pays off.” Principal Arlene Wallace joined Darlington County School District superintendent Dr. Eddie Ingram to present students with certificates, trophies, and commemorative emblems.
