Lott runs nation’s second fastest 800m

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Top Coker College track and field members Darroneshia Lott and Brandon Mullins ran the Virginia Grand Prix, working toward marks for the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships.

Senior Darroneshia Lott sparked a new program and personal record in the 800-meter, automatically qualifying for the Championships in May. Lott secured a second place finish in 2:05.41. Lott’s time is also the second-fastest 800-meter in the Division II ranks.

The Pensacola, Fla. native has also provisionally qualified for the 1500-meter event with the ninth-fastest Division II time with a 4:25.72 mark.

Brandon Mullins also took part of the Virginia Grand Prix, competing in the men’s 800-meter. Mullins earned an NCAA Division II provisional with a seventh place finish in the time of 1:51.80.
