Learn how to grow citrus from Stanley McKenzie

The infamous Stanley McKenzie of McKenzie Farms and Nursery, the northernmost citrus orchard on the east coast, will be speaking at the Lamar Library on Monday, March 23 at 7 p.m.

McKenzie has been producing citrus, vegetables and other crops at McKenzie Farms and Nursery since the mid 1960’s. The farm is located on Hwy. 341 between Lake City and Olanta, S.C. Although the farm is a year round adventure, McKenzie specializes in cold hardy citrus, eucalyptus, and some palms. Some of the citrus he grows includes Yuzo, 10 Degree Tangerine, several varieties of Satsumas, Mandarin, Kumquat, lemon, lime and grapefruit – among other hybrids.

Gardeners, you won’t want to miss as Stan discusses how to grow cold hardy citrus and other hardy crops in S.C.! The program is free.
