Lady Stingers beat Surry, win final regular season home games of 2018

The Florence-Darlington Technical College Lady Stingers swept Surry Community College 8-0 and 5-3 on Saturday to win their final home games of the regular season at Old Cormell Field.

In the 8-0 win, Marissa Tyndall pitched a no hitter in five innings. She struck out three batters and walked two.
Erin Bailey was 2-for-3 with a homerun and a single. Tyndall was 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Bailey knocked out a walk off homerun to give the Lady Stingers the 5-3 victory over Surry in the second game of the doubleheader. Tori Alexander was on base when Bailey hit the ball over the fence. Bailey was 3-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBI.
Once again, it was Tyndall earning the win on the mound. Tyndall pitched a full game. She struck out a batter and allowed six hits and three runs.

Kristina Lee was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, one RBI and a sacrifice bunt. Shelby Cox was 2-for-4.

The Lady Stingers are now 33-6 overall and 24-1 in Region 10.

On April 20, the Lady Stingers will travel to play Pitt Community College in the final games of the regular season. The games will be played at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
