HHS Youth Leadership Academy team performs well

HHS Youth Leadership Academy
Congratulations to the Hartsville High School team for being in the top 7 out of twenty eight participating schools at the Youth Leadership Academy Jefferson Awards Program held March 9th at Coastal Carolina University. The following students, coached by Mr. Matthew Nelson, represented HHS: Dewayne Barnes, Nolan Dittenhauser, Shamona Fludd, SharDazia Gregg, Cate Henderson, Logan Kirkley, Tyler McCoy, Andrea Moore, Jeremiah Neubauer, Caroline Surrett and Datavious Wilson. Prior to the Youth Leadership Academy, each participating team completed a survey highlighting information they gathered about their school’s service and how this service helped students grow as leaders, engage their peers and have a measurable impact on their community. Teams also prepared a 6 – 8 minute video demonstrating their service efforts. Awards were given based on combined scoring on the written survey and video presentation.
