At a brief regular meeting held Nov. 12, Hartsville City Council celebrated the success of the International Baccalaureate program of Hartsville High School.

IB program coordinator Paula Alvarez and several IB students received a proclamation from Mayor Pro Tem Johnny Andrews declaring the week of Nov. 11 as International Baccalaureate Week in the City of Hartsville.

Council also welcomed members of Boy Scout Pack 523, Arrow of Light Den, and presented them with specially designed merit badges from the city.

Also at this meeting, election results from Nov. 5 were read into the record, and incoming Council member Bryson Caldwell thanked supporters for their votes. Caldwell will succeed current District 2 representative Bernice Wilson, who is retiring from Council.

Resuming their seats for the next four years will be Andrews (District 4) and Bobby McGee (District 6). In all three council races, the candidates ran unopposed.
