Hartsville man dies in shooting

A Hartsville man has been charged in the killing of another Hartsville man Feb. 4, officials said.

Terrele Rashon Bailey, 24, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted violent felon and robbery, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, Renardo Jamal Davis, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene by Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee, the coroner’s office said.

The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. off East Old Camden Road in Hartsville, the coroner’s office said.
Deputies arrested Bailey Feb. 6.

Sheriff Tony Chavis said investigators served a search warrant at a residence on Mimosa Drive at around 8:45 p.m.

During the search, investigators took the suspect into custody and collected evidence.
