Hartsville First Responders invite community to National Night Out

On Sat., Aug. 5, the City of Hartsville’s first responders invite the community to join them at Burry Park, 131 Cargill Way, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for National Night Out. The event will feature free hotdogs while supplies last and kid’s activities such as a game trailer, balloon animals, bubbles, face painting, and more. The area’s first responders including Hartsville Police Department, Hartsville Fire Department, Darlington County EMS, Darlington County Sheriff’s Department, and Department of Natural Resources will be attending the event for a meet and greet with the community.

National Night Out is an annual community event that promotes police and community partnerships across the nation. The event enhances the positive relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.

The event will be followed by the last film of this season’s Screen on the Green, free summertime outdoor movie series, also in Burry Park. This showing will feature, “Sing”, sponsored by the Hartsville Police and Fire Departments and is rated PG for some rude humor and mild peril. Moviegoers are invited to bring blankets and chairs for the movie showing. In case of rain, the movie will be moved to the Coach T.B. Thomas Sports Center at Byerly Park, 701 W. Washington St.
