Girl Scouts hold Pizza and Programming Workshop

Darlington County Institute of Technology and Girl Scouts Troop 423 are sponsoring Pizza and Programming (a computer programming workshop) on December 7 at the Darlington County Institute of Technology from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Refreshments will follow.

Girls do not have to be current Girl Scout to participate. We are looking to expose girls to coding during Hour of Code, which is recognized during the week of December 4-8.

The information technology department at DCIT current consists of Web Design, Game Design, Animation, Advanced Animation, Computer Programming, Computer Service and Repair and Advanced Computer Service and Repair. These are all considered non-traditional careers.

The event can comfortably handle at least 36 girls. Have them register by calling 843-398-3517 or emailing aurelia.burgess@darlington.k12.sc.us.
