The importance of having a vibrant and relevant public library in a community was recognized by Duke Energy Jan. 10 with the presentation of a $1,500 donation to Darlington Library by its community relations manager, Mindy Taylor. The donation was accepted by Darlington Branch Manager Michelle Wallace, Reference Assistant Tony Watkins and Director Jimmie Epling on behalf of the Friends of the Darlington Branch and the Library. The Friends of the Darlington Branch Library is a nonprofit organization that helps raise funds that support children’s programs, adult events, classes, the annual Summer Reading Program and other projects.
