Dubose-Gore announces candidacy for Darlington City Council

My name is Audrey DuBose-Gore and I am announcing my candidacy for Darlington City Council Ward 1. I am very proud to be a citizen of Darlington and want to become an agent of change in helping the city grow. This decision to run came by praying and trusting in God that I will do my best to earn the support of the people and represent them with honesty and integrity. My vision is to “build the people” and you can build the community. I am concerned about our children, that they have a safe environment to grow and play; our young people complete their education, and to receive advance degrees and training; young men to find jobs, and our senior citizens are well provided for, and receiving all the services they need.

As a city council member, I will be assessible to the residents. I will listen to the people, and present their concerns to the council. I will be accountable to the people. I will plan community meetings in our Ward, to keep residents inform with city plans, and activities. I will be a council member that will do the best of my ability to make decisions that are based upon what is right for the residents, and the city of Darlington.

My parents are the late Spurgeon E. DuBose Sr, and Ophelia DuBose.

I am married to Rev. Roger Gore, Retired Vietnam Veteran, and Pastor of Damascus Road Christian Church.
I was an honor graduate of Mayo High School 1974 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from USC. I hold a Master’s of Science degree, and currently a PhD candidate in Human Services at Walden University.

I am affiliated with the National Council of Negro Women and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Those that want a candidate that will work for them, will engage with Council to help move the city forward for all residents, and help to unite the city, I AM THAT PERSON. We can grow the city if we are together, and united. It is time to move forward together.
