Do you know Darlington County for April 26, 2017

The photo from last week was Annie Greene Nelson. Born in Darlington County on December 5, 1902, she was the first African-American woman in South Carolina to publish a novel. The book, entitled After the Storm, was published in 1945, and she also published The Dawn Appears, Don’t Walk on My Dreams, and Shadows of the South Land along with other plays and poems.
