Detention Center Officer nominated for award
W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center Training Officer Sgt. Lesa L. McCormick was nominated for the Law Enforcement Training Officer of the Year award through the South Carolina Training Association.
“Sgt. McCormick is someone who loves people, works hard and always tries to lift the spirits of those around her,” stated Sheriff Tony Chavis.
Since 2009, Sgt. McCormick has received Class 2 officer certification, Basic Instructor certification and Field Training Officer certification. In 2016, Sgt. McCormick became the Lead Training Officer at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center. As the Lead Training Officer, Sgt. McCormick is instrumental in creating lesson plans and preparing multiple training assignments. Sgt. McCormick has assisted, coordinated and developed training plans and schedules with neighboring agencies.
