Darlington Downtown Christmas Market
The Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association provided shoppers with a unique indoor shopping experience on Saturday, December 12th with the Downtown Christmas Market in the Trinity United Methodist church fellowship hall. Items from gift vendors, crafters and artisans tempted shoppers while beautiful Christmas music was performed on stage, including Sandy Banks, who posed with Lisa Rock.
The performance by Phoenix Phame from Mayo High School for Math Science and Technology was the highlight of the day, as everyone stopped what they were doing to crowd around to hear the talented young people led by Cole Davis.
Winner of the raffle for “Guess how many Hershey Kisses” contest was Vickie Gimla, who guessed 1,197 – the actual number was 1,333. Mrs. Gimla has been
a part of the Market on Darlington Square since it began, selling wonderful hand stitched and hand crafted items with her friends each month.
DDRA director and city planner Lisa Chalian-Rock plans to hold the event again next year. To learn more about DDRA, contact Rock at 843-398-4000 x 103 or email darlingtonplanner@gmail.com.
