Darlington County man facing child-porn charge

A Darlington County man is being accused of possessing child pornography.

In a news release issued last week, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said that Johnny Calhoun McInville III, 48, of Darlington, was arrested on one charge connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the attorney general’s office made the arrest, Wilson’s office said. Investigators with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Secret Service, both also members of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted with the execution of the search warrant and arrest, officials said.

McInville is accused of possessing child pornography. McInville was arrested April 8. He is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree, a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment.

The case will be prosecuted by the attorney general’s office.
