Coker Esports faces Northern Arizona University and University of Jamestown

In week three of the Tespa Overwatch Preseason, the Coker University Cobras faced Northern Arizona University and the University of Jamestown.

The first match was against NAU, and the starting map was Busan. The Cobras started off strong with a full team Earthshatter from Dustin Brown, allowing the Cobras to get the first point and hold it for the entire round.

Coker started off the second round by getting the point first again, but NAU was able to take it back. The point was traded back and forth, and NAU was able to get the second round.

For the third round Coker got to the point first and held it until 99 percent when NAU took it back. After a few pushes Coker was able to win a teamfight to win the map.

The second map was King’s Row, and on their first push both teams were able to push through the entire map.

Coker had two minutes and 15 seconds left and NAU had one minute and 12 seconds left. Even with a minute deficit, NAU was able to push the payload farther than Coker to win map 2.

The last map was Dorado and NAU was able to push through the map quickly, but were stopped just short of the final point. Coker was stopped early and went into Overtime on the first point, but Coker was able to push through and use their momentum to push through the rest of the map to win the map and the match.

The second match was against University of Jamestown and again the match started on Busan. The map went back and forth with UJ winning the first round, Coker winning the second, and then UJ winning the third round.

Second map was King’s Row and like the previous map it was a close fight. Coker was able to start it off by pushing through the map with 1:41 to spare. UJ was also able to get all three points but it took their entire timebank to do so. UJ was almost able to force the tie, but Andrew Schick was able to stall long enough with Mei to allow his team to get back and win the map.

The final map was Route 66 and Coker was stopped short on the first point. This means that Coker had to defend the first point for 4 minutes to win the map. They were able to hold for three minutes before UJ pushed through to win the match.
