Citizens repaint public parking spaces

The public parking lot just off City Lane (behind Carolina Bank Plaza) received some much-needed cosmetic attention last week as one Darlington city worker and one volunteer took up paint rollers and braved the chilly winds to repaint faded parking spaces. “We don’t have enough money to get the parking lots repaved, but we can at least get the paint and mark the lines, make sure the curbs are painted, and make sure the islands are maintained,” said Ronda Brown, City of Darlington Beautification Board. Brown and Beautification groundskeeper Leroy Davis also applied bright yellow paint to curbs and concrete lane dividers at the City Lane entrance, and freshened paint marking handicapped parking spaces.
