Attempted murder suspect arrested with guns and drugs

On Thursday September 14, Darlington County Sheriff’s Investigators attempted to locate a person wanted for attempted murder at a residence in the Kelleytown area of Darlington County. Investigators were given consent to enter the residence to search for the wanted person. Investigators located and arrested Antwaun Tyree Stevenson, 25, of Hartsville, inside the residence. Investigators also discovered firearms in plain view. Stevenson is a convicted felon barred from possessing firearms.

Investigators secured a search warrant for the residence and located a .40 caliber Glock with an extended magazine, an AK-47 rifle with an extended magazine, a Rossie shotgun / rifle combination and 14 grams of crystal methamphetamine. A black Ford F-150 was discovered outside the residence and seized as evidence.

Stevenson is charged with two counts of attempted murder for a shooting that occurred on N. Rolling Rd. in Hartsville in March. Stevenson faces additional charges of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and trafficking of ice, crank or crack. Stevenson is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. More charges are expected.
